The World Against Me

I have recently become a big fan of edited photography. Not that I didn't like it before, but let's say that I've "re-discovered" it. It's often very hard (for me at least, I don't know about you other photographers out there) to get the right picture. The picture that I wanted to take. I all the time end up taking a picture that is not quite what I set out to take.

It can be very annoying, and oddly satisfying at the same time. When the end picture is not as good as I'd hoped, I am obviously disappointed. But other times, when the result is better than I had hoped, I am satisfied, happy.

Let me show you.

The above picture is not exactly what I had in mind when I decided to take the picture. Because of natural interferences, it often is not. In this one, I would have liked less trees, and more of the person (my cousin, Tara). What I should have done was take the picture in a field, so that I could get a reflection of Tara against the sky. More sunlight would have been nice, too, but unfortunately the day was actually quite cloudy. It poured rain after I took the shot. I had to work with what I had.

Ah well, the trying conditions of being a photographer. Sometimes, the world just doesn't want you to take the picture.

But I did it anyway.
