Meeting Lolli McPheonix

Here's a poem/song I wrote. I wrote the music for the first part, and just recently finished the lyrics. Enjoy!

“Lolli, please talk to me,
Don’t tell me it’s a dream”,
He says to me as he runs his hands,
Up and down my close-shaved knee,
He talks to me, he pulls my hair,
Then slips one on the cheek,

“Mr. Vivaldi,
Please try and understand,
This isn’t how I planned this out,
So let’s take two steps back”

Who’s that standing at the bar,
With the pink-umbrella drink,
You don’t want to mess with her they say,
Cause her dad owns the company,
She’s on my mind, she’s in my head,
She keeps on botherin’ me,

“Hey, where’re ya goin’?
The party’s just begun”,
“Must be home by 12,” she says,
“And it’s already 10 past 1”

Now she’s walking out the door,
With her pride slung on her back,
If anyone’s got looks that kill,
I’d put my life on Black,
She knows her way around her men,
That’s much too much for me,

“It’s time I’d be runnin’,
I’ve got places to go,
Thanks so much, you’ve been awfully kind,
But these things come in rows, so,

Please my dear, sweet Juliette,
Don’t take up all my time,
I have a place I’ve got to go,
It’s far away from here,
I turn my back, she looks at me,
I’ll cringe as I walk away,

I had a good thing goin’,
But I threw it all away,
To chase a dream I met one night,
Is it worth it, I don’t know.

The reason some of it is written with Quotation marks is because the "narrator" changes throughout the song, from male to female. The girl in the song is called Lolli McPheonix. It's a weird name, but funny story behind it (kind of). I was sitting with a bunch of my friends, eating at a restaurant, when two people started speaking at once, and then suddenly stopped to let the other one finish. When they spoke, what I heard was Lolli McPheoinx. So that's how I came up with the name.

I wrote this because I was planning on writing an album (it's still in the works, somewhat) and the album was going to have a story-line to it. Basically, it was to deal with human emotions, and tell the story of 2 people who meet and fall in love. Lolli is one of these people. There's more to it than that, but I won't give it all away just yet, partially because I haven't written too much else.

I don't yet have a name for the male character (but I have thought of some other cool female names). I get a big kick out of creating names. I don't know why. Particularly girl's names. Couldn't tell you why.

But if anyone has an idea for a male name, I'd love to hear it.
